چکیده

Abstract We present a miniaturized quantum key distribution system, designed to augment the more mature systems currently commercially available. Our device is for consumer market, and so size, weight power are important than raw performance. To achieve our form factor, transmitter handheld receiver larger fixed terminal. envisage users would bring their transmitters centrally located receivers exchange keys which they could use at later point. Transmitting qubits 80 MHz, peak rate in excess of 20 kbps. The fits within an envelope <150 ml, weighs 65 g consumes 3.15 W power.

Low Cost and Compact Quantum Key Distribution

We present the design of a novel free-space quantum cryptography system, complete with purpose-built software, that can operate in daylight conditions. The transmitter and receiver modules are built using inexpensive off-the-shelf components. Both modules are compact allowing the generation of renewed shared secrets on demand over a short range of a few metres. An analysis of the software is sh...

Compton Scattering of Annihilation Photons as a Short Range Quantum Key Distribution Mechanism

The angular distribution of Compton scattering of two quanta originating in the annihilation of a positron with an electron is investigated as a quantum key distribution (QKD) mechanism in the gamma spectral range. The geometry of coincident Compton scattering is observed on the two sides as a way to obtain partially correlated readings on the quantum channel. We derive the noise probability de...

Time-cost analysis of a quantum key distribution system clocked at 100 MHz.

We describe the realization of a quantum key distribution (QKD) system clocked at 100 MHz. The system includes classical postprocessing implemented via software, and is operated over a 12 km standard telecommunication dark fiber in a real-world environment. A time-cost analysis of the sifted, error-corrected, and secret key rates relative to the raw key rate is presented, and the scalability of...

A fiber-based quasi-continuous-wave quantum key distribution system

We report a fiber-based quasi-continuous-wave (CW) quantum key distribution (QKD) system with continuous variables (CV). This system employs coherent light pulses and time multiplexing to maximally reduce cross talk in the fiber. No-switching detection scheme is adopted to optimize the repetition rate. Information is encoded on the sideband of the pulsed coherent light to fully exploit the cont...
